Had a great set on the Cheetah pattern last night.  I decided to go with my Roto-Grip Grenade Gold (polished urethane).  I started out standing on board 23, rolling the ball over the 1st arrow out to the 2nd board.  Except for a couple of shots in the 1st game, I kept the ball around the pocket.  I had one open (baby split) for a 209 game.  Toward the end of the 1st game, the lanes started to break down a little.  I moved back on the lane to pick up my ball speed, and the ball was really coming in nice.  I ended up rolling a 244 for my 2nd game.  At the end of the 2nd game, I decided that I needed to move in a little.  So in the 10th frame, I moved my feet 5 boards left, moved my mark in 2 boards (Thanks Eddy) and took a little speed off by moving forward on the lane.  That move worked, and I ended up rolling a 259 in the 3rd game for a 712 series.

I didn't do anything special on the 1st or 3rd game tonight on the Chameleon pattern.  However, I bowled my 1st 300 on a PBA Experience pattern for the 2nd game.  I rolled a 171 on the 1st game.  (I wiffed on a couple of single pin spares.)  And on the third game, I left a couple of 10 pins (picked them up) had a 4-7-9 split in the 6th frame, and left a pocket 7-10 on the 1st ball of the 10th frame for a 183 game.  I ended up with a 654.  I have had a pretty good year so far.  I bowled my high series a couple of weeks ago, and this is my 2nd 300 for this season.

Had a rough nite on the Chameleon pattern last night.  In my 1st and 2nd games, I had 3 splits in each game (most in the very beginning of the game) and ended up rolling 5 strikes in the second half of the game to salvage 170 games.  And in the 3rd game, I totally lost it.  I ended up bowling a 179, 176 and a 160 for a 515 series.  (That's my 2nd lowest set this season so far.)  My ball was hookinig too much when I tried to play around 5.  When I moved inside and found the pocket, it wouldn't last for more than 3 or 4 frames.  Through the 3 games, I had 1 turkey and 4 doubles.  I need to practice rolling my ball with less revs (to where I can make repeatable shots).  I did have a good practice session on just that earlier today.  So we will find out this coming week, if I can improve on the Chameleon pattern.

    PBA Exp - 27 Oct 2008

Had a great night on the Old Viper pattern tonight.  I had practiced earlier with a ball with some surface using a suitcase release, and did ok.  When I started warming up for league, I left a wash out.  My ball definitely wasn't coming up as much as I expected, so I switched to a weaker ball, and used my regular release.  I was standing on the 13th board, and rolling my ball over the 1st arrow.  I stayed in the pocket all night, and had an 80% stike percentage.  The only adjustments I had to make was moving forward on the lane (to slow down my ball speed) to compensate for the carry down.  I ended up bowling a 255, 259 and a 267 for a 781 series.

    PBA Exp - 20 Oct 2008

Had a rough start on the Viper (old) pattern this week.  I practiced on the pattern earlier in the day (and thought I was lined up) but when we started bowling league, it was ugly.  I started out trying to roll down the 5 board, and the ball was coming in too hard on the back end.  I started the 1st game out with a blazing 134.  I eventually moved to the second arrow, with my Gyro (uerethane / pancake core).  After a couple of frames, I was either leaving a 2-10 combination or a washout.  I kept the same line, but slowed down my ball speed at the beginning of the 2nd game, and started hitting the pocket.  The second game was much better with a 199.  At the beginning of the 3rd game, my ball started coming in high, and I had to pick the ball speed up, and found the pocket again around the 5th frame.  I had a 5 bagger starting in the 6th frame for a 214 game.  I missed 3 single pin spares in the set (2 in the 1st game).  After starting out with a 134, I am happy with a 547 series.
