Well, I thought I was going to have my first 700 of the season, but I lost it the last game. I picked up 2 out 3 spares the first game (I pulled the ball on a 10 pin attempt for the miss) for a 244. On the second game, I had a clean game (only had to shoot at 3 spares) for a 239. The third game, however, did not get off to a good start. I chopped the 3-6-9-10 in the first frame, and I chopped the 3-6-10 again in the second frame. I also missed a 5-8 later on in the game (just pulled it, no concentration and ready to go home). I ended up picking up 3 out of 6 spares the last game (I did manage to roll 5 stikes) for a 182 game and a 665 series.
Coincidentally, I had exactly 4 opens for the 4th league night in a row. My spare shooting has been a bit better this last week, but still needs work. I have a spare ball that only moves a couple of boards, so there is no excuse for me missing easy spares. Anyway, I tried something a little different last night. Originally, I shot all my spares over the second arrow. That worked great for the spares on the right hand side of the lane, but I found myself missing spares on the left side because I was pulling my arm across my body. A friend recomend that I use the 3rd arrow for my spares. That worked great for my spares on the left side. But I started having problems with the 10 pin, because I found myself having to get my arm out to the right, or I would be inside my mark and miss the 10 pin. I used a combination of the 2 for the first time last night, and felt a lot more comfortable with my spare shooting.

I get to practice the pattern on Sunday mornings. I go when I can. I won't be able to practice the Shark this Sunday, because I will be in Pocono for the NASCAR Race.So this Tuesday I will have to go on instinct to start the night.
